This Hotel Is Just A Few Feet Shorter Than The Empire State Building
The JW Marriott Marquis hotel, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, is officially the tallest hotel in the world. It measures at 1,164 feet tall and is the first JW Marriott Marquis-branded hotel to open up outside of North America. It's total height measures only 85 feet shorter than New York's famed Empire State Building. This hotel takes the honor of the world's tallest hotel away for the former title holder, the Rose Rayhaan Hotel. The Rose Rayhaan Hotel comes in a a height of 1,093 feet. Marriott International president and chief executive officerArne Sorenson spoke to The Herald Sun about the hotel's grand opening:
“Dubai is an important destination for Marriott International as one of the world's most exciting cities offering world-class facilities and infrastructure, central location in the region and future growth potential.”
It Houses 804 Rooms
The JW Marriott Marquis Hotel features a grand total of 804 rooms. These rooms span two of the hotel's two gigantic towers. Both towers officially opened last week.

There's Plenty of Restaurants and Lounges
The hotel is also home to nine restaurants, four bars, a 32-yard swimming pool, a 4,000-square-foot Turkish hammam spa, a health club, and a meeting room. Some of the lounges is located on the 71st and 72nd floors, which both offer a beautiful view of the city.
The Hotel Is Near Other Record Breaking Landmarks
The hotel just happens to be in the vicinity of other world record breaking landmarks. It's near the Dubai Mall, the world's largest shopping center, and the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building. Dubai is home to a few other Guinness Book of World Record-noted buildings.
