A Kissing Sound Became a Name
While it isn't a proven fact, many people at the Hershey's Company believe that Kisses were given their name because of the sound that is made when the candy is produced. The machine makes a very distinct smooching sound when the candy is manufactured.

80 Million Kisses Are Made Each Day
Another fun fact about Hershey's Kisses is that an astounding 80 million Kisses are made each day. Another fun fact is that 95 Kisses make one pound. That means that almost 850,000 pounds of Hershey's Kisses are made each day! That's a lot of Kisses.

Chocolate Bars Invented in 1900
In 1900 the Hershey's chocolate bar was invented. Finally, Americans could afford a luxury that had once been reserved for the rich. Also this would benefit Americans by providing several new jobs in the Pennsylvania area.

They Store a Lot of Cocoa Beans
Another shocking fact is that in the Pennsylvania factory there is 90 million pounds of cocoa beans. That means that at any given time they have enough cocoa beans on hand to make five and half billion candy bars.

America's Largest Chocolate Company
It's really not a shocking fact, but it's still fun to know that Hershey's is the largest chocolate company in America. The company continues to grow as it purchases other smaller companies. Other large companies include Ghirardelli and Nestle.

Sold in Over 90 Countries
This brand is sold in over 90 countries. This means that the company is right up there with McDonalds and Coca-Cola when it comes to being a recognized brand world-wide.

More Than Just Chocolate
One fun fact that many people don't know is that Hershey's makes more than just chocolate candies. Hershey's also makes fruit flavored candies such as Jolly Ranchers and Twizzlers.

Chocolate Bars Originally Sold for 5 Cents
As mentioned above, when Hershey's chocolate was first introduced it was affordable to everyone because it only cost 5 cents. Now it seems that their marketing schemes are changing. They of course still offer affordable chocolate, but you will also notice that Hershey's is also offering confections called Cacao Reserve which are more expensive.
